Operational Consultancy
Operationally biased projects vary, with examples throughout the 'lifecycle' including:
Design:
A SE Asian Operator reduced the diameter of a proposed pipeline - BPA demonstrating that a smaller line saved capital and
operating costs, with future demand met by other capacity enhancement techniques.
Commissioning:
In Portugal , BPA provided operations management personnel to generate procedures and support the local team, transferring
knowledge from our UK system operation.
Operation:
BPA defined the operating organisation structure, resource requirements, roles and responsibilities for operation of the
Turkish section of the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline system.
Integrity:
BPA utilise its integrity management capability to
review the 'fitness for purpose' of pipelines in Kuwait using output data from On Line Inspection - including development of a
phased remediation strategy.
Modification:
BPA established technical and cost requirements for conversion of a 100km crude pipeline in SE Asia to gas service.
Enhancement:
BPA's benchmarking service identified a major discrepancy in the power costs of a major European pipeline operator, leading to
savings of £1 Million per year.
Decommissioning:
Review of a quayside terminal in Ireland determined de-commissioning requirements. BPA managed the entire process including
cleanup of ground with over 30 years of oil contamination.
