A Chartered Electrical Engineer, John has more than 20 years’ experience in managing projects relating to hydrocarbon pipelines and associated facilities in the commercial and military sectors in the UK and overseas. As BPA’s Engineering Manager, he sits on BPA’s Leadership Team and is responsible for the successful delivery of an annual project programme of C£20M and for BPA’s engineering team of C50 staff working on pipeline and terminal systems operated by BPA and for third party clients. John’s particular expertise lies in the Control & Instrumentation aspects of the onshore oil and gas sector, designing and implementing SCADA, leak detection and product movements and accounting systems on pipeline facilities. In that area he is currently directly responsible for delivery of BPA’s own £6million project to replace the control system on the 650km UKOP pipeline network, including SCADA, local control panels, communications infrastructure, leak detection, movement accounting and pipeline scheduling systems. John has presented on BPA’s SCADA project strategy and Leak Trials to the CONCAWE Organisation in Brussels.
