Safety is at the heart of everything we do at BPA. As we continue our efforts to empower our staff to help make BPA a safe place to work by preventing predictable incidents, this year we have updated the Shell 12 Life Saving Rules with The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) 9 Life Saving Rules. We believe that working together as an industry and moving to an industry standard set of Life-Saving Rules will help our front-line workforce understand and collectively apply simple and consistent actions to help reduce both harm and incidents.
As the year goes, every month we explore each life saving rule in more detail. They are not intended to address all the risks and hazards that exist in the oil and gas industry, instead they focus on the things an individual has control over. It is about individuals feeling empowered to take proactive and positive actions when it comes to their own and their colleagues’ safety.
