Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

BPA is ‘Keeping the UK moving 24/7/365’ by ‘managing pipelines and terminals safely and sustainably’.

As a leader in the engineering and operation of onshore oil transmission and storage facilities, we provide related services to asset owners in the UK and consultancy services worldwide.

Our supply chains include the sourcing of materials and services principally related to the provision of operating and maintaining onshore pipelines and terminals.

In line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, BPA’s policy on slavery and human trafficking is a commitment to preventing violations in its own operations and those of its supply chain.

BPA’s business conduct policy sets out the expectations on all employees to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct in carrying out the business of the company.

BPA conducts its affairs in accordance with a series of business principles which provide the framework of policies and standards within which the company carries out its duties and responsibilities. These include our policy on anti-slavery and human trafficking which aligns to our values of ‘We care’ and ‘We do the right thing’.

Due diligence:

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk of slavery and human trafficking:

  • We actively seek to build relationships with our suppliers and customers and make clear our expectations of business behaviour.
  • We expect our supply chain entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes in place.
  • We have in place systems to encourage the reporting of concerns.

We undertake practical steps, including inspections and audits, to ensure that our standards are being implemented throughout the business and that local legislation and regulations are complied with. We will assess any instances of non-compliance on a case-by-case basis and will then tailor remedial action appropriately.

Training and awareness:

To ensure a reasonable level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide awareness training to our employees and all Directors have been briefed on the subject.
