BPA officially opens the new UKOP pipeline control centre

On the 22 June 2021, BPA officially opened the new UKOP pipeline control centre building at Kingsbury. The new “state of the art” facility will operate the UKOP pipeline 24/7/365. The building has been designed and built to protect both the critical operating assets and most importantly our staff who operate them. It also offers the latest solutions to accommodate human factors with regard to environment, stress, facilities and system layout including dynamic circadian lighting, temperature, noise and vibration control. The building was constructed and commissioned safely, under Covid19 restrictions, with minimal disruption to BPA’s business. The project was a great collaborative achievement to improve the safety and integrity of BPA’s operations.
